ICHK Hong Lok Yuen (Kindergarten and Primary) is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Lead at the earliest possible date. The ideal candidate will have a depth of knowledge and experience in the wide range of learning needs that are found in an International Kindergarten and Primary School. These may include, but are not limited to, ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, Speech and Language delay or disorder.
The candidate should be highly organised. They will lead and manage the school’s learning support team as well as liaising with outside providers such as therapists where more specialist interventions are required.
The candidate should have the personal skills and empathy to have difficult professional conversations with parents around their child's need for support.
Job Summary

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in teaching with a specialisation in special education; or Bachelor’s Degree with a Post-Graduate Certificate or Diploma in special education
- Knowledge of current educational theories and practices on learning support approaches, child development and pedagogy
- 3+ years experience in a learning support role
- High level of English proficiency
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Ability to deal with issues of a highly confidential and sensitive nature
- Efficient level of ICT literacy (with experience in using Google Workspace for Education)
Desired
- Master’s degree with a specialisation in special education
- 2+ years experience in an IBPYP setting
- Ability to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin
Leading and Managing Learning Support
- Manage the programs and interventions for children on Learning Support (including timetables and personnel)
- Organise and coordinate the work of outside agents
- Regularly review Learning Support needs with teachers and parents
- Provide pedagogical support for teachers
- Provide pastoral care for children when needed
- Organise and coordinate the writing and implementation of IEPs for specific students
- Liaise with ICHK Secondary to maintain and develop through-train initiatives for Learning Support
- Provide access to opportunities for professional learning (including workshops and conferences) for the Learning Support team
Contributing to a Learning Community
- Collaborate with the staff and leadership
- Consistently reflect on own professional growth
- Be organised and disciplined with own responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
- Set and monitor own challenging learning goals, seeking out own professional learning opportunities

- In collaboration with the Director of Learning and Teaching, empower teachers and learning assistants to provide high quality planning, instruction and assessment for all learners
